Empathy unlocks doors. See the human, and listen deeply to their stories. The answers to most tough problems are usually tucked within the things we don’t allow ourselves to listen to. Acknowledge, recognize and share the successes of others.
Extreme ownership. Radical responsibility. Acknowledging the role you played when something goes wrong, and being able to see the role you can play to make things go right. Even when time, budget, people, headspace, passion and [insert excuse here] are making it hard.
Self-awareness. Acknowledgement of personal traits, inquiry into how we show up in the world, and both a willingness and desire to grow.
Good leaders don’t build followers, they build other leaders. Change requires voices rallied around vision.
Do what you do so well they want to come back and bring their friends (Walt Disney). Always look for the opportunity to exercise creativity and create a special moment, for our team, for our customers, and for the world.
There is no one right way. There are very few right answers and perfect models, only learning. Plan your work with the expectation it will change. Ship fast, change quick, stay humble.
